Ebook mockups are by far the best way to present your ebooks to your audience.

With millions of ebooks being written and published every day, you need a unique way to present your ebook and stand out from all the noise on the internet.

Traditionally, you will have to hire and pay a graphics designer to design your ebook mockup using software like Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator or InDesign. While this is not such a bad idea, not everyone can afford to pay a professional to design your ebook mockup.

One common mistake I see quite often is people using their ebook covers directly on email campaigns, social media promotions or their websites as a lead generation tool. The problem with this approach is that you end up with an ebook design that is not visually appealing and may not grab your audience attention.

The good news is that there are lots of free online ebook mockup generators that you can start using today to create stunning ebook mockups your audience will love you for. All you need is your ebook cover in jpeg or png format and you're good to go.

In this article, I will share with you my top 5 free online ebook mockup generators you can use today.

Be sure to read the entire article cos number 5 on this list is my absolute favourite.

1. DIY Book Covers

Simply put, DIY Book Covers is one of the most popular 3D ebook mockup online generators available online.

There are lots of 3D design templates to choose from that covers a variety of design styles including;

  1. 3D book cover
  2. Amazon Kindle
  3. IPad and IPhones

You can also create composite designs that include a combination of these mockups.

To create your ebook design with DIY Book Covers, simply click here or visit https://diybookcovers.com/3Dmockups/ on your browser.

Make sure you already have your ebook cover designed and saved as a JPEG or PNG file.

If you are having issues designing your ebook cover, you are welcome to take this free ebook design course using Canva which is available on Kobocourse.

Step 1

Open https://diybookcovers.com/3Dmockups/ on your browser and choose a template.

You can select the composite tab if you wish to create an ebook mockup that covers various devices.

Step 2

Click on browse and select your ebook cover design from your file explorer and then click on upload.

Step 3

Finally, click on next and choose the file format (PNG or JPEG) you will like to download. If you plan on placing your ebook mockup on a different background, please select the PNG file format as this comes with a transparent background.

2. Placeit

Placeit by Envato is another powerful online tool for generating ebook mockups. Although some of their beautiful templates require a monthly paid subscription of $14, the available free mockup templates are equally useful.

One of the features I love about Placeit is the ability to place your ebook design into various context such as in the hands of a reader, on a desk or as a standalone book.

With Placeit, you have unlimited choices for your ebook mockup which will help you stand a world apart from the crowd.

To get started with Placeit, simply click here or visit https://placeit.net/book-mockup-generator on your browser.

Step 1

Browse through hundreds of templates and select the one you like best or the one that fits your needs.

Step 2

Click on insert image and select your ebook cover design. You can also add some text to your ebook mockup design by providing additional text in the text box as shown in the image below.

Add text or additional graphics

You can then resize the text and position it exactly where you want it in your design. You can also add multiple texts and change the background colour or text colour as you wish.

Optionally, you can add other graphic elements to your ebook mockup but ensure you don't draw too much attention away from your ebook itself.

Step 3

Once you are happy with the look and feel of your ebook mockup design, click the free download button and select the free download option. This will generate your ebook mockup and save it to your computer or smartphone.

If you are looking for unique designs for your ebook mockup, there are hundreds of free templates to choose from.
