How to set up store policies

Create refund, privacy, terms, and FAQ policies for your storefront and checkout on Kobocourse.

Overview

Store policies build buyer trust and appear on your storefront, checkout, and order success pages. You can use templates or write custom policies per type.

Before you start

  • Creator account.

Step 1

Open policies

View all policy types: refund, privacy, terms, FAQ, and more. Each can be edited or reset to defaults.

Step 2

Edit each policy type

Click a policy type to edit. Save when complete. Policies publish to kobocourse.com/your-username/policies/slug.

Step 3

Override per product or community

From a product or community detail page, override refund or guidelines policies when a specific offer needs different terms.

Step 4

Verify checkout display

Run a test checkout to ensure required terms acknowledgements appear before payment.

Tips & troubleshooting

  • Refund policies should match what you can actually honor via your payment processor.
  • Keep FAQ policies updated with shipping, access, and support response times.
